1.
It was proposed to contact the Burners in San
Francisco because it is an art based event and they do contribute to local
educational art based programs. We will pursue this for future funding.
2. We are looking for someone to head up the garden so that we can raise food for the farmers market. If anybody is interested in teaching the students about gardening please contact the school.
3. Advertising:
a. The Charter School was advertised on KOLO
b. Reno News and Review did an article about the Charter School Play. You can pick one up at Everlasting, scoopers and Starbucks.
c. Nevada Matters
d. RGJ and KRNV published that the school is staying open
e. You tube- type in Rainshadow – done by Joe Reese to see the taping of the announcement by Steve that Rrainshadow is staying open
4. It was proposed that we submit interests to do a wine walk for a fundraiser. It will take 6 months after the paperwork is submitted before we can do the walk.
5. Rainshadow parent teacher organization has started a web page; it will be linked to the RCCHS web page. The plan is to submit all the active members of the parent group into the site and all the active donors will be listed in both sites.
6. It was proposed that some of the student’s from the play the Charter School could recruit future students from middle school by preforming at assemblies at the middle schools.
7. Upcoming events include:
a. The Charter School still playing Thur. March 28 and Friday March 29, Sunday March 31.
b. Art Bee Sat April 30th 7PM to 10PM.
c. Talent Show April 8th
d. Prom April 26 th
e. Graduation May 31
f. Craft Show June 7th & 8th.
8. April 2nd UNR Winney Dowling is meeting with Steve for business plan and marketing.
9. Starting to work with TMCC for the culinary program to see if we can work our program into a first step into the TMCC culinary program. We may be able to train our students with the culinary program at TMCC and use our kitchen for catering services on Friday and Saturday nights. The students will learn how to serve and other aspects of the catering services. They will be able to earn money by participating in the program.
10. We have decided to table the Tupperware campaign for next fall.
11. Mr. Hottinga will design flyers for both the parent group and the craft show.
